This workshop is intended to prepare students for Spring and summer sports and activities. Stretches and strengthening will the incorporated to address those who love to garden, bike, play tennis/ pickle ball, kayak and row. We will discuss “counter poses” to stretch areas that may be tightened by these activities and strengthening to build resilience and prevent injury.
This yoga practice will focus on postures and breathing that I incorporate in my therapy practice to recover from and prevent common injuries related to these activities. This workshop will incorporate mindfulness and meditation to facilitate a mind-body connection to improve focus; and concentration and prevent overuse injury.
ABOUT Deb Fraine
Deb Fraine is a 200-hour Yoga Alliance registered yoga instructor who has taught yoga since 2015. She owns Deb Fraine OT- a private therapy practice at the Mattapoisett Wellness Center. Her practice focuses on evaluating and treating the shoulder, elbow, wrist, hand, and private yoga instruction. She has been a certified hand therapist since 1999 and an Occupational Therapist specializing in musculoskeletal and orthopedics since 1987. Deb enjoys incorporating yoga into her therapy sessions and believes that yoga may be one of the most beneficial modalities that she uses to facilitate the healing of the mind, body, and spirit.
