Active Isolated Stretching (Self Care) Workshop – April 22nd

Active Isolated Stretching: The Mattes Method centers on physiological principles of specific muscle lengthening, increased circulation and oxygen to the tissues, lengthening of the superficial and deep fascia.

The 2 day workshop involves exact details of how to safely lengthen muscles and fascia simutaneously maintaining a physiologically based agonist-antagonist relationship.

The workshop is 30% lectures, 70% hands-on work. Detailed approaches to each muscle surrounding a joint, various indications and contraindications related to diseases, injuries, joint replacements, osteoporosis and aging factors. Carpal tunnel, tendonitis, arthritis, thoracic outlet, fibromyalgia, back problems, neuropathy and various sports medicine considerations are discussed and demonstrated during the workshop.

Led by Jessica C. Dagnello A Massage Therapist of 15 years. Has studied under Ben Benjamin to learn and practice these movements into her practice. And now is offering it to all of you as a means of self –care.
