What is Reiki? Reiki is a spiritual healing art form that is sacred in nature. We are all divine beings of a spiritual nature and each possess the ability of self-healing. It is our birthright! We often forget this way of self-reliance; the strength of our own personal power. The way to reclaim this personal power is really quite simple – we must first acknowledge that we are ready and then recover the “story”, of who we are, what we came here to do and how we are to accomplish that; it must start at the beginning, of our own story.
What does the word ‘reiki’ mean? There are two components to this Japanese word – “REI” meaning mystery, gift, divine spirit and “KI” meaning life force energy. When combined it becomes “Divinely Guided Life Force Energy” or healing that is guided by wisdom and spirit.
What will I learn? This class re-connects you to that which is inherently yours as you become attuned to the higher vibrations of the universe and awaken the natural healing potentials within. You will learn both the traditional Usui Method of Energy Healing as well as come to understand the shamanic origins and components that make up this ancient healing art form.
How long will it take? The teachings and attunements are offered in two consecutive days of 4 hours each for a total of 8 hours of teaching and practice.
What are the benefits? Benefits include stress reduction, relaxation and healing. You will be able to do reiki for yourself, others, plants and animals too!
What do you mean by “healing”? Healing is the restoration of ‘normal’ function. It is the act or process of regaining health and wholeness. When we are healing, we are moving towards a state of natural repair. Healing comes in many forms and responds to the degree of intention guiding it.
Will I get a certificate? Yes! Upon completion you will receive a First Degree Reiki Practitioner Certificate in the Usui Lineage of Reiki Healing and be welcomed into the Reiki family. Detailed handouts are given.
What do I need to bring to class? One should dress comfortably, in loose fitting clothes. Please bring a journal, water, some fruit, nuts or a light snack to enjoy when we take a break…and yes, an open mind!
