This Functional Flow series incorporates the important attributes for sustainable longevity – mobility, flexibility, balance, and core stability – to move optimally for many decades! No matter how old we are, we can increase our strength and improve our movement patterns to be more sustainable, and move and feel our best. From newbie to more advanced practitioners, this approach can benefit students of all levels. Try a single class or complete the entire series! Thank you for joining me on this journey to move well and feel better.
Week One: Start with the Core
Engaging in functional movement there is always an emphasis in moving everything from a balanced pelvis and a strong core! The core acts as a generator for any and all movement. You’ll notice a difference deliberate movement can make in this flow and by the end, you will not only see an improvement but feel it as well!
Week Two: Hip and Hamstring Mobility
Hydrate your hips with this slow flow utilizing two blocks to create space for you to move better and feel free both on and off the mat! Focusing on both range of motion and strength, you’ll get the benefit of healthier and happier hips and hamstrings when you’re done!
Week Three: Supple Spine
We need to have the mobility in our torso for our rib cage to be able to move freely around the spine. Our postures in everyday life often determine the amount of restriction we have. Having mobility in the spine is absolutely essential. It will help to optimize both posture and performance of daily tasks such as bending and twisting.
Week Four: Full Body Freedom
This is our final class in this series. In the series we will have worked on building the foundation, becoming grounded, strengthening and lengthening and now we get to use all that we have learned and embody freedom. Through learning how to stabilize and mobilize our bodies there will be the structure of yoga and the freedom of movement that it provides.
A 3% convenience fee will be added for all debit/credit card transactions.
